Morning Meeting
Students attend church service with their families for the first 5-10 minutes before being dismissed to Sunday School by Pastor. Everyone then meets in the back of Chalupa Fellowship Hall for the Morning Meeting. Students put a sticker on the attendance chart and place their offering in the wooden cross box. Awards are given out for the day and birthdays are celebrated. The day's Bible story is presented and the meeting is closed with a prayer. Return to Sunday School Main Page

Offering Envelopes
In addition to being used for Sunday School needs, we plan to use student offerings
for several different Outreach Projects. Students will see where their offering
is going and who it will be helping. Families and students will be notified
when the “cause” changes.
The first Offering Project we will be involved with will be the ELCA World Hunger
Appeal Good Gifts: Global Barnyard. Through their generous donations, students
will help families in 3rd world countries purchase animals to feed and clothe
families and help them earn money for a better education and a stronger future.
Our goal starter animals will be rabbits, chickens and goats. Last year we were
able to donate $300 in only a few months. We will keep you posted on how you
can help others help themselves. Return

Celebrating Birthdays
Students are encouraged to celebrate their birthday with their Sunday School community, regardless of whether it falls on a Sunday or during the week. Students are asked to bring in the same number of coins as their age, which will earn them a “Happy Birthday” song (if desired), a pencil and a birthday certificate. At the end of the school year, all birthday collections will be donated to the Connecticut Food Bank - we donated $57 last year! So don’t forget to bring in those coins and share your happy day with us, and later, with others in need! Return to Sunday School Main Page

Look for the large pot labeled “Souper Bowl of Caring” and please keep it overflowing with donations. Thank you in advance for your generosity. We are also planning for students to have an opportunity to serve in a local food pantry on a Saturday in February. They will get to see firsthand where food donations go and get a chance to help out. A sign-up sheet and more information will be available in Fellowship Hall.
