Spring Lesson Overview

It is that time of year where we start to wrap up lessons and prepare for the big "finale": Youth Service and The Milestone Program. Students are busy practicing their parts and song in class as well as at home.

The high school class is wrapping up their viewing and discussion of "Narnia." Pre-k through 8th grade classes continues to stay busy learning Bible stories and their relevance to the modern day lives through fun activities, projects and games.

We hope everyone has enjoyed and learned a lot from the Sunday School Program this year, whether out of classes, handouts, activities, and/or outreach projects. And A BIG THANK YOU goes out to the volunteer teachers who dedicate their time and energy into sharing God's Love with our children. Thank you and God Bless.

Volunteer Opportunities

Yes, This means you! Continuing our in-service project first started for the ELCA's "Souper Bowl of Caring" program, we will be able to help out at a local food pantry. Please consider spending some of you time with your Christian friends helping out in a great community service opportunity. You will be bagging food and carrying it to cars.

Pantry Helpers Needed

People were so energized by our first opportunity to help out at a food pantry on Feb. 3, that we have another chance . It will be at the same place: Light on The Hill Food Pantry, Summerfield United Methodist Church, 110 Clermont Ave in Bridgeport. There are 2 shifts between the hours of 9:30am-12:30pm. Please sign the volunteer list found on the School News bulletin board and volunteer some of your time to help out.

Emmanuel House Project:

Remember to drop a dollar into the HEART = HOME collection box in thefellowship hall by the white cardboard house. It currently needs more shingles (donations) if we are to reach our end of the school year goal. Help a family affected by Hurricane Katrina today.
